The Disney world is full of abbreviations. As a regular visitor to th emany online forums you’ll start to pick them up. For example, last weekend I was in MK, queueing at BTM, when DD and DS started asking “what do all these abbreviations mean?”. So, what could CJDPT stand for? The url doesn’t really give away any clues, so I’ll spoil the quiz by saying Central Jersey Disney Pin Traders.
Other answers: Magic Kingdom, Big Thunder Mountain, (not sure, but I thought it could be) Darling Son and Darling Daughter!! (Please correct me if I’m wrong).
The Central Jersey Disney Pin Traders (aka CJDPT) was started in 2002 to help extend the fascination with Pin Trading. Trading or collecting Disney pins can become very addictive. Buying them from the shops and stalls, Trading them with other Walt Disney World guests and Cast Members, then displaying your collection in your own personal way. All this is great when your at the resorts, but what happens when you live several States away. This is where this site starts to make an impression.
CJDPT hold regular meets through out the year in New Jersey. Looking at there 2008 calender they have dates booked for at least 1 per month. Then on top of these they have organised trading weekends (with group deals on hotel stop overs). Recent meets have ammassed over 100 attendees.
On www.CJDPT.com you’ll find a link to the rules of pin trading and how the trading should be done. When you consider the number of Disney pins available, there is always going to be a pin that everyone is after. I started collecting Pins about 6 years ago and foolishly decided to collect them all. I quickly discovered that I had to focus on one area. Some fans collect the theme park attractions, others collect characters or even special editions.
The Central Jersey Disney Pin Traders have attended Magic Meets every year since it was establish. It appears that a Disney Vacation doesn’t need to end when you return home. There are more and more meets and events happening all the time. In terms of Pin Trading in the North East of USA, this site has it sealed up.
